The Label Speaks

As an Oktoberfest-style beer, Fest Lager celebrates the fall-season. On the beautiful grounds our Shuzenji brewery, we host an annual Fall Harvest Festival. The depiction here is based on a photo of a group of Fall Harvest Festival participants enjoying, amidst the lovely autumn foliage, fantastic beer, succulent food and warm human camaraderie.

Bryan's Comment

This German-style Marzen (Oktoberfest) Lager, hued in the amber-red tones of the fall foliage, carries in it the life-affirming taste of the autumn harvest festival season.

Ingredients

Water Soft, Cleanly Flavorful, Local
Malted Grain Floor-malted Pilsen, Vienna, Munich, Caramel
Un-malted Grain None
Sugar Japanese Korizato (Rock Candy)
Hops Whole Flower Cones – Various Varieties
Yeast House North American Lager Strain

Bryan's Brewing Notes

Craft beer as a movement arose in part as protest against the ubiquity of bland industrial Lager. As a result, Lager beer has received relatively scant attention by artisanal craft brewers. This is unfortunate because characterful Lager can be every bit as compelling and pleasing as personality-laden Ale. Our Fest Lager (a Marzen-style Oktoberfest Lager) proves the point.
